The President of Sohag University meets with Students of the Surveying and Mapping Program at Faculty of Arts during the Practical and Field Training of the surveying project

Dr. Hassan El-Naamani, President of Sohag University, met with fourth-year students studying in the Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information Systems program at Faculty of Arts, during their fieldwork for the surveying project, which is being implemented on the grounds of the new university campus. Praising the students’ excellence and their possession of the skills and experience that enable them to practice work in all fields of geographic information systems, using the latest technologies that keep pace with global and technological developments.

 

Dr. Mohamed Tawfik, Dean of the faculty, emphasized the importance of such practical training, as it is considered an important part of the academic aspect, and from it applied graduation projects are produced, which are the most important requirements for passing the final year and graduating with the desired grade for the student, and it requires effort and creative thinking to present distinguished ideas that serve the environment and society.

It also provides students with the opportunity to apply their studies in a practical field, and to learn about professional ethics and teamwork.

This helps prepare graduates before embarking on their professional careers, enabling them to become effective members of various scientific, practical, and research fields.

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Rady, the general supervisor of student projects in the department, said that the university president followed up the practical training of students in the Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information Systems program to implement their graduation projects.

He pointed out that fourth-level students are divided into six groups, each responsible for implementing a graduation project and includes 70 male and female students.

This was under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud, Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Al-Azhar University, Qena, and the practical follow-up of Dr. Omar Bahaa El-Din, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Geography at Faculty of Arts, Sohag University.
