Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, and a student delegation participated in a precedent, the first of its kind, in attending the plenary session of the House of Representatives which was held today, in the balcony of the hall, within the framework of spreading parliamentary culture and introducing young people to the role of the Egyptian Parliament in providing legislative and oversight support to the Egyptian state.
The House of Representatives, headed by Chancellor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, welcomed the President of the University and his accompanying delegation of students, a number of faculty deans, staff members, and the administrative staff, as he was keen to introduce the students to the mechanism of discussions and voting within the Council in order to get to know closely the reality of the legislative process and political life in Egypt.
From his part, Al-Nomany extended thanks and appreciation to Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, praising the great hospitality with which he received the university students from all the officials within the House of Representatives, and their keenness to facilitate the students’ task and inform them of all aspects related to the legislative work flow in Parliament, praising the bonds of cooperation with national bodies and institutions, most notably the Egyptian House of Representatives which makes an appreciable national effort to uphold, protect and defend national values and constants.
Al-Nomany assured that the Egyptian Parliament has a long history of more than one hundred and fifty years, during which it played remarkable roles throughout Egypt’s contemporary history, by embodying the values and principles of the struggle of the Egyptian people throughout the long and extended history of the Egyptian nation, offering thanks to Representative Nashat Abbas for his kind invitation to the Council.
