The Center of Developing the Capacity of staff Members and Leaders at Sohag University concluded its training program about “competitive research projects”, which targeted 22 staff members, including lecturers and assistant professors from the various faculties of the university, at the center’s headquarters in the old university campus.
Prof. Mustafa Abdel-Khalek, the President of the University, said that the training program included introducing competitive projects and funding agencies, as well as the criteria for selecting research projects, and the various items that make up the research project, in addition to how to present and formulate it in the correct way in a competitive form, stressing that the aim of the training program is to provide the participants with knowledge and the skills for preparing proposals for competitive research projects that are submitted to donors to fund their implementation.
Prof. Anbar Mahmoud, Director of the Center, added that the training program also dealt with introducing the trainees to how to present the research problem and prepare an integrated proposal for the research project, the most important funding agencies and the requirements for applying to them, in addition to that it contained many different methods and training activities, which included lectures, discussions, presentations and workshops. And others, pointing out that the program was presented by prof. Islam Al-Sheikh, a professor at the Faculty of Science and former director of the Project Management Unit at the university.
