Sohag University wins 4 Gold Medals and the Championship Cup of the Egyptian Universities’ Bodybuilding at the 52nd Martyr Al-Rifai Tournament

Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, announced that the university team won the championship cup in the bodybuilding competitions, and obtained the first position among the Egyptian universities, winning 8 medals, including 4 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze, within the activities of the 52nd Martyr Al-Rifai Tournament, organized by the Egyptian University Sports Federation under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, extended his sincere congratulations to all the winning students in the tournament, adding yet another achievement to the university’s record of accomplishments.

He wished them continued success.

Dr. Abdel Nasser Youssef, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, expressed his pride with the university’s distinguished and talented male and female students in all areas of student activities, their continued excellence and brilliance in various local and international meetings and forums, and their determination to achieve success and raise the university’s name high among Egyptian universities, stressing that the university administration never skimps on providing all the requirements of the educational process,

providing the necessary requirements to create a suitable environment for students to practice their activities comfortably, in a manner that suits their abilities, skills, and talents. Dr. Mohamed Kamal, General Coordinator of Student Activities, stated that the university team won the championship cup after winning eight medals. The gold medal was won by Mustafa Saber, a student from Faculty of Sports Sciences (100 kg weight), and Moaz Ibrahim, a student from Faculty of Agriculture (85 kg weight).

Stephen Arns, a student from Faculty of Commerce (70 kg), and Ziad Alaa, a student from Faculty of Arts (65 kg).

Dr. Ahmed Atef, Director General of the Central Youth Care Administration, added that university students also won two silver medals: Mohamed Khaled, a student from Faculty of Sports Sciences (90 kg), and Ahmed Abdullah, a student from Faculty of Commerce (70 kg).

The bronze medal was won by Mustafa Asim, a student from Faculty of Law (95 kg).

Ali Muhammad, a student from Faculty of Technology and Education, won the 80 kg weight class, while Ibrahim Saleh, a student from Faculty of Law, won the fifth position in the 60 kg weight class.

Mr. Nashat Abbas, Director of the Sports Activities Department, noted that the tournament was held at Suez Canal University in Ismailia Governorate, adding that the university team was accompanied by members of the administrative and technical staff under the supervision of Captain Al-Khatib.

Masoud, a specialist in the Youth Care Department, Captain Mahmoud Anbar, the national team’s technical director, and Captain Mohamed Abdel Aziz, the national team’s coach.
