Sohag University organizes a Field Visit for Students with Disabilities to the National Academy for Information Technology in the New Administrative Capital

Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, stressed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi always seeks to empower and integrate people with disabilities and ensuring their strong participation in building the new republic, believing in their abilities and potential. He explained that the visit of students with disabilities from various Egyptian university regions to the New Administrative Capital falls within the objectives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s national strategic plan, led by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education. The visit will help raise awareness of the diverse services provided by the Egyptian state to its citizens and introduce them to the scale of the achievements taking place in the New Administrative Capital.

Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, pointed out that this visit comes within the framework of achieving the goals of establishing the central unit at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, “Empowerment,” and the specific attention given to integrating and including students with disabilities in all fields, activities, and events inside and outside the university.

Continuous efforts are being made to provide them with all necessary facilities, services, and support at all levels: academic, societal, cultural, and technological. Dr. Tarek Zaki, Director of the University’s Center for Student Services with Disabilities, said that these visits represent a new qualitative shift in the way students with disabilities are treated at Egyptian universities.

Under the supervision of Dr. Sherine Yahya, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Disabled Affairs, explaining that the visit program included inspecting the headquarters of the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities and introducing the Academy’s activities and services. The program also included inspecting the headquarters of the Administrative Capital Company.
