Nour Al-Basira Center of Disabled at Sohag University organized the celebration of the International Day of Disabled, on December 3 of each year, in the presence of prof. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and prof. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Vice President of the University.
The Center’s Board of Directors, Dr. Imad Al-Sawaineh, Director of the Center, Dr. Salma Abdel Moneim, Deputy Director of the Center, Mohamed Al-Baz, Director of the Rehabilitation Office, Dr. Hisham Al-Sayed, Coordinator of the Red Crescent body, and a group of staff members and students at the university.
Prof. Hassan Al-Numani, President of the University, said that the University is keen to commemorate the International Day of Disabled every year, in order to emphasize their right to live and dream of a better future and to live in a society that welcomes their presence and makes optimal use of their abilities, stressing that students with disabilities have all rights and possess abilities and talents especially to enable them to be creative in all fields, he thanked the students with disabilities and their families who were keen to stand by their children and provide them with all forms of support and care.
Prof. Khaled Omran Ali stressed that it is necessary to raise awareness and consolidate the concept of equal opportunities between able-bodied and disabled people, and to demonstrate the extent of the university’s keenness to create appropriate conditions for people with disabilities in all aspects, and to pay attention to their care, as the university designed appropriate buildings and fully integrated them into the university community, based on From the concept of empowering persons with disabilities and raising awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities in every aspect of life.
