Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, honored the university’s sports teams that achieved remarkable successes in the past period during their participation in a number of summit meetings organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education for the students of Egyptian universities and institutes, stressing that the university administration is keen to honor its talented and distinguished students in all student activities, and to motivate them to continue their success and excellence.
without hindering their academic and scientific achievement, he thanked the General Administration of Central Youth Care for its full support and care for the students, wishing them continued success in winning medals and cups that will raise the name of the university high among Egyptian universities.
From his part, Dr. Abdel Nasser Youssef, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, congratulated the honored students who won advanced positions in many sports championships and forums, stressing that the university is proud of its young human cadres capable of competing strongly in various fields of student activities, explaining that such meetings are a good opportunity to exchange experiences and skills among the participants.
Preparing and qualifying students to practice student activities in a proficient manner, pointing out that the education and student sector is keen to develop an annual plan for student activities that is compatible with the skills and abilities of students and meets their needs and artistic, sports and cultural talents, while providing all aspects of financial and logistical support to implement these activities in the best possible way.
Dr. Mohamed Kamal, General Coordinator of Student Activities, said that the university president honored the university’s handball, basketball and football teams, who achieved advanced positions during their participation in the sports tournament known as the “52nd Martyr Al-Rifai Tournament,” which is organized by the Egyptian Sports Federation for Egyptian universities and institutes, in addition to honoring members of the administrative and technical staff and supervisors accompanying the delegations.
Dr. Ahmed Atef, Director General of the Central Youth Care Administration, added that the honoring also included the students who won first place in the table tennis championship (male and female students), the basketball team (male students) and the five-a-side football team (female students) who won the second position at the level of the Egyptian universities, during their participation in the sixth edition of the Southern Universities Games Festival, which was held in Luxor Governorate under the slogan “Youth of the Universities of the New Republic.”
Mr.Nashat Abbas, Director of the Sports Activities Department, stated that the university president also honored the students who won the university bodybuilding championship, in which 75 students participated, with weights ranging from 60 to 100 kg, and which was judged by the Sohag Bodybuilding Region.
Mr. Hamada Habarir, Director of the Rovers and Public Service Department, said that the students who won the first position were honored at the conclusion of the eighth scouting and guidance festival for the faculties’ Rovers and Rovers, in which 200 male and female students participated and which included a number of competitions in the religious, cultural, scouting, scientific, artistic, and public service fields.
