Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, congratulated Major General Hisham Hosni, Commander of the Popular Defense Forces and the Military, on assuming the new position. The congratulations were held at the command headquarters in Cairo. The congratulations reflect the university’s appreciation for the role of the Egyptian Armed Forces in protecting the nation and society, strengthening its cooperation with the university in organizing educational seminars and various events, with the aim of raising students’ awareness of the importance of defending the homeland and enhancing their sense of belonging and patriotism. The University President emphasized the pivotal role and fruitful cooperation between the Popular Defense Forces, the Military, and the University, as the two parties discussed organizing a number of educational seminars at the beginning of the new academic year and a number of field visits to the national projects that are being supervised.
In addition to visits to strategic sites, military and naval bases, he added that the university carried out four field visits during the months of June and July to the Air faculty, Mohamed Naguib Military Base, and the Paratroopers and Thunderbolt Command Forces. He explained that in cooperation with the leadership of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, the university continues to implement a number of national education courses for female students, which aim to qualify more than 10,000 female students. By the end of 2025, 12 courses will be held in national, historical, military, and medical fields, as well as artificial intelligence and fourth- and fifth-generation warfare. Major General Hisham Hosni thanked Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany for his constant commitment to educating students and cooperating with the leadership of the Popular Defense Forces and the military in all activities targeting university students.
