In the presence of French President Macron, the President of Sohag University attends the Egyptian-French Universities Forum at Cairo University

Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, attended the Egyptian-French Universities Forum, with the participation of French President Macron.

The forum, held at Cairo University, represented a qualitative shift in the academic cooperation between Egypt and France.

It aims to strengthen Egypt’s position on the global education map and establish new partnerships with the French universities, enhancing opportunities for sustainable development and serving future generations.

In addition to providing training, qualifications, and innovation support, the French President was received by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education; Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University; Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities; Dr. Philippe, French Minister of Higher Education; and leaders from the Ministry of Higher Education and French educational institutions.

Heads of research centers and institutes, and a number of French companies in Egypt.

Al-Nomany emphasized that Egypt is at the forefront of countries striving to open new horizons for academic and research partnerships at the global level, twinning with relevant international entities, and internationalizing higher education.

This is all aimed at enhancing the quality of scientific research as a key pillar of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, launched by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education.

Al-Nomany said that President Macron, during his speech, praised the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and France, stressing that youth and innovation are the key to achieving a shared future between the two countries.

He also praised the scientific and innovative activity between the two countries, which is distinguished by its quality, as there are 50 double degrees and approximately 3,000 students receiving their education in France.

He added that the meeting witnessed the signing of approximately 40 memoranda of agreeing to launch joint academic degrees between the Egyptian and the French universities.
