Coinciding with the visit of the French President Emmanuel Macron, the President of Sohag University participates in the French-Egyptian Conference about the Scientific and Academic Cooperation

Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, participated in the activities of the French-Egyptian Conference for Scientific and Academic Cooperation, which is being held over two days, coinciding with the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Cairo.

The conference was attended by Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Laurent Gattenot, President of CYSERGE at the University of Paris.

Dr. Abdel Nasser Bas, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Okasha, Director of the University’s Center of International Relations, and Dr. Tarek Abdel Naeem, at one of Cairo’s major hotels.

Al-Nomany stressed the importance of enhancing scientific and research cooperation between the Egyptian research institutions and their international counterparts, in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to focus on quality in higher education and scientific research and to offer joint educational programs that meet the needs of the global labor market.

Pointing out that the higher education sector in Egypt has undergone a major transformation towards enhancing international cooperation, under the leadership of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

 

Al-Nomany said that this conference is a decisive step towards strengthening cooperation between France and Egypt in the fields of higher education and scientific research,

and a starting point for expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation.
