Al-Nomani inaugurates the initiative of 100 million fruitful trees by planting 1,000 trees at the new campus of Sohag University

Today, Prof Hassan Al-Numani, the President of the University, inaugurated the initiative of 100 million fruitful trees, by planting 1,000 trees in the new campus of the university, in cooperation with the Hengmalha Foundation for Sustainable Development, in the presence of both Prof. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Khaled Omran, Vice President for Community Service Affairs and environment development and engineer Muhammad Qabtan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, and a number of staff members and students.

The university president stressed that the initiative reflects the efforts of the Egyptian state to deal with the issue of climate change, preserve the environment, and raise environmental awareness among all segments of society to achieve and implement environmental sustainability system and Egypt’s Climate Change Strategy 2050, explaining that this initiative has an important role in alleviating the phenomenon of global warming, reducing the negative effects of climate change, preserving biodiversity, enhancing the values ​​of beauty and reducing pollution rates through afforestation operations, expanding green spaces, and improving air quality.
