Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented the “University Hospitals Star” shield to Sohag University Hospitals, in appreciation of their outstanding performance and prominent role in providing healthcare services to patients from the governorate and all neighboring Upper Egypt governorates.
This came during the activities of the first conference of the university hospitals, organized by the Supreme Council of University Hospitals in cooperation with Ain Shams University.
Al-Nomany expressed his pride and honor to the appreciation of Dr. Ayman Ashour and the Ministry of Higher Education to the efforts made by Sohag University Hospitals and as a culmination of the efforts of the medical and administrative staff to develop the health system in Upper Egypt. This award is the outcome of the institutional work that combines health care, education, and scientific research, emphasizing that university hospitals have achieved a prominent position among the largest hospitals in the country, in providing highly efficient medical services.
Dr. Magdy El-Qady, Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sohag University Hospitals, said that this recognition is a strong incentive to exert more effort and work to improve the quality of medical and educational services provided to patients and students.
Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, emphasized that the hospital administration is constantly striving to improve performance in accordance with quality and accreditation standards, while continuing to implement the plan to expand medical services to serve the residents of Sohag Governorate and neighboring governorates.
He explained that the first conference in the university hospitals discussed the reality of the university hospitals, their current situation, the challenges they face, and their pivotal role in providing healthcare and medical education.
The honoring ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, former Minister of Health and Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Preventive Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Diaa El-Din Zein El-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Omar Sharif Omar, Secretary of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, and Dr. Ahmed Anani.
The Minister’s Advisor for Health Policies, and the university delegation participating in the conference included Dr. Islam Amer, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Asmaa Mohamed Gouda, Director of the Quality and Infection Control Department, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Saeed, Deputy Executive Director of Sohag University Hospital, and doctors Dr. Mohamed Awish and Dr. Abdel Hamid Haridy.
