Sohag University President and the Student Delegation inspect the Egyptian Geographical Society and the House Museum

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, and his accompanying delegation of students, staff members, and administrative staff, inspected the Egyptian Geographical Society and the House of Representatives Museum, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and a number of deans of faculties and representatives of the House of Representatives.

Al-Nomany said that during the visit to the Egyptian Geographical Society, the society’s museums and libraries were introduced, and the archaeological collections they contain, the statues of Muhammad Ali, King Fouad, and Ibrahim Pasha, the Royal Hall, and the unique archives, as the society is one of Egypt’s modern edifices that was established by Khedive decree in 1875 – as the oldest geographical society.

He expressed his happiness to Dr. Ismail Youssef, Secretary-General of the Society, who awarded him the Society’s shield.

Al-Noamany added that the delegation also inspected the Egyptian House of Representatives Museum inside the House of Representatives, which includes holdings that include archaeological reproductions of the oldest systems of government, legislation, laws and treaties in the history of humanity, in addition to the souvenirs it displays that were presented to the People’s Assembly itself. The museum also includes photographs and oil portraits of Egypt’s leaders, and the heads and members of the parliaments Numerous political and constitutional documents, as well as pictures of Council meetings on important occasions such as visits by some state leaders to the Council, in addition to a special section displaying pictures of the victories of October 1973, including pictures, paintings and drawings of the heroism of leaders and individuals, during the war period.

The students thanked Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany for giving them the opportunity to participate in such visits, during which distinguished knowledge and skills were acquired, in addition to visiting such important landmarks and viewing the distinguished archaeological collections that they saw for the first time.
