Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of Sohag University, inspected the Animal House at Faculty of Science, which provides experimental animals for research purposes in the university’s faculties, with the aim of supporting scientific research, accompanied by Dr. Hazem Al-Mushanab, Dean of Faculty, and Dr. Hamdy Hassanein, Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research.
Dr. Hassan Al-Numani said that the Animal House aims to provide experimental animals for workers in the field of scientific research for students and researchers of various faculties, in order to conduct their laboratory experiments and academic and applied research, both in their specialization, stressing the importance of establishing this house to provide a place to house and raise experimental animals, and to provide pure breeds among them, which gives credibility to scientific research at the university.
Dr. Hazem Al-Mushanab added that the animal house includes many white mice, white rats and rabbits for scientific experiments, which are included in all scientific research and are needed by all students of scientific faculties, researchers and graduate students, as these mice are the closest example of mammals to humans, explaining that they are provided all means of caring for animals, including lighting, ventilation, temperature, and feeding, and not conducting experiments except under anesthesia in consideration of the animal’s pain, as well as the safe disposal of dead animals.
