Sohag University participates in the First Advisory Committee Meeting to Promote Innovative Business Initiatives

Sohag University participated in the first advisory committee meeting of the “Dwyer” Circles  program to promote innovative business initiatives led by women in the sustainable rural tourism sector in Sohag, at the invitation of the Awtad Foundation and the Spanish Foundation Sidal within the Dwyer program, in the presence of Victoria Eva Suarez, head of the Spanish Cooperation Agency in Egypt, at one of Major hotels in Sohag.

Dr. Hassan Al-Numani, President of the University, said that the meeting aimed to provide participants with the necessary skills in the field of creating innovative projects according to the sustainable development approach, preparing advanced business plans and financing them effectively, by adopting modern methods of training that integrate together the theoretical (through presentations) and applied dimensions. (Practical training through analysis of case studies)

He added that the Dwyer Program, funded by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID), aims to support national policies that support the development of rural communities and their value chains, to maximize the capabilities of entrepreneurs in the governorate to use its resources and provide innovative ideas to establish the principle of sustainable value and provide economic empowerment in various industries, such as the handicraft industry, hotels, and popular and heritage foods.
